The laboratories are
designed to cover a variety of subjects for the various courses given by the
department. Experimental work on heat engines, general engineering, mechanisms
and vibrations, control engineering, photoelasticity and guided weapons can be
carried out. Research work into damped vibrations, ship structures, fatigue in
steels and thermal stresses in structures is carried out by the Staff.
