Lucerne Golden Memories In 2011
The hotel occupies a superb lakeside location only a 10-minute bus ride from Lucerne with a steamer
landing stage nearby. It is beautifully decorated with an excellent restaurant, its own lakeside garden,
bathing area and an open-air bar. The perfect spot to enjoy the sunset over the lake with friends.
HOTEL SEEBOURG
As the last rays of sunset begin to disappear on Mount Rigi the houses and offices across the lake
provide a magical backdrop to another wonderful day from a holiday that will always be remembered
and treasured.
At the end of a busy day what better that to relax in the last rays of the sunshine with a glass of wine
and chat about the days gone by and to plan for those yet to come.
Looks like a good day to explore the Rigi mountain or a lake cruise. Whatever, the important thing is
that we are in Lucerne having a wonderful time.
A CLEAR VIEW OF RIGI
TIME TO REFLECT
A grey start to a day that does not look good for a mountain visit or tour of the lake. So it maybe a bus
ride into the city to enjoy the surroundings with a hot chocolate in a waterside cafe. There is so much
to see before our holiday is over.
UNIQUE BIRTHDAY CAKE PRESENTATION
After the main meal we each had our own birthday cake and candle with ice cream, strawberries and
chocolate. A finale to a birthday that will always be remembered for its location and friends with whom
it was shared.
BIRTHDAY PARTY 6th JUNE 2011
Keith, Connie, Margaret, Sandra and father feeling very happy after a very enjoyable birthday dinner.
The cake is on its way with the staff singing the usual song. It good time was had by all.
PERSONAL BIRTHDAY CAKES
Connie and Sandra had made 4 birthday cakes complete with candles that managed to stay alight in
the evening breeze on the balcony. What a surprise and a lovely thought to add to our many cherished
memories built up over the days of our holiday.
TIME TO OPEN PRESENTS
This present stretched our imagination. Although it turned out to be a fitting reminder. For our first 3
nights the pudding had been a variation of rhubarb. Not that was minded as rhubard is liked, but it was
hoped for a change. Connie as usual took charge and had a word with the management.
CULTURE & CONVENTION CENTRE
Come the birthday evening it was time to start the celebrations with champagne in our room with
Sandra and Connie. The cork did not quite reach the lake across the road, although it did make a
passer-by look startled.
OUR DINING ROOM
One of the inside dining areas where we had our breakfast and evening meal. There were always new
visitors from various countries to meet and exchange pleasantries. As usual, English was a common
language. Of an evening many people dined outside in the still warm sunshine.
LAKE-SIDE GARDEN AND OPEN-AIR BAR
Of an evening and at weekends the lake-side garden is popular for families and a younger generation
to sun bathe, swim or sip cocktails. Some visitors would arrive from across the lake and moor their
boats along the shore. A romantic place to be as the sun goes down and turns the garden golden.
A ROOOM WITH A VIEW
In addition to the arrangements on the dressing table Connie, Sandra and their father Oscar had
decorated the beds with sweets, flags and flower petals. They could not have made our welcome
more pleasing.
THE ROOM PREPARED BY OUR ADOPTED DAUGHTERS
Our dear friends Connie and Sandra had met us at Zurich airport and drove us to the hotel. Arriving in
our lakeside room they had kindly decorated it with flowers, chocolates, wine and cards from them and
our much-loved daughter Karen. A very generous welcome we will always remember.
HOTEL FOYER
The staff were informative and always most polite and helpful. The room was modern and cleaned
every day by pleasant staff. The view from the balcony gave views of the lake and mountains that we
dreamed of.
