During WWII with the build up to D-Day the Conservative Hall, on the left, was lively with soldiers and a local dance band. After the war the scouts put on a Gang Show and occasionally a lady came with a record player for us lads and lassies to have Barn Dance.
The road is also where the scouts, cubs and guides having marched from Lashley's corner down through the Village assembled before entering the church for a St George's Day service,
